Our kids like yogurt especially strawberry yogurt. However, I don't like the fact that those thing come in individual packages and the large amount of sugar in each package so I thought I better make one myself. I found the Strawberry Frozen Yogurt Recipe from Davit Lebovitz's book: The Perfect Scoop.
Ingredients:
The process:
Heat the pan and cook the strawberry or raspberry with the sugar until the sugar is completely dissolved
crush the berries with hand blender or regular blender.
when the mixture is cooled, add the yogurt.
stir with wooden spatula
then voila we get a strawberry yogurt
If we want a strawberry frozen yogurt then all we have to do is churn it in the ice cream maker
130g sugar {less or more depends on your preference and the tartness of the strawberries}
2 pounds or 907g plain whole-milk organic yogurt {I got mine from Wholefood or Trader Joe's}
1 teaspoon lemon juice
Directions:
Heat the berries and sugar in a pan until the sugar begins to dissolve.
Let it cool
Crush the berries with hand blender or regular blender
Place yogurt and lemon juice to a mixing bowl. Add the berries and gently mix with wooden spatula {stop here if you only want a strawberry yogurt}
To make strawberry frozen yogurt:
Refrigerate overnight
Churn in the ice cream maker according to the manufacturer's instructions
Enjoy!
