Let's see where should I start? My mom is coming in two weeks. Wooohooo. I can't believe my ears when she said that she will be here for 1 month. She was here only for 2 1/2 weeks last year when I gave birth to Max. You see, my mom works all the time. We have a nanny and grandma taking care of me and my 3 siblings when we were little. So... we're so excited and thankful that my dad let us borrow her for a while. Thanks Dad!
Next, Chris will start his new job in two weeks. We're so grateful about this. Thank you for those of you who have been praying for us. We truly appreciate it. The company where he works filed for bankruptcy back in January when we were in Indonesia for vacation. That was the reason we decided to come back earlier than schedule besides Max kept getting sick. Interestingly, in here when companies went bankrupt, they still function as usual since they still have to deliver their product and service to the customers. Eventually, the company will be sold but in the mean time, they try to cut expenses and lay off as many people as possible. Chris was working on an important project so he was able to stay.
It's different when we hear about economy crisis and experience it ourselves. We know many friends who lost job so we prepared for the worst... being out of job; for me to go back to work; having to move out of state or country even. I was pretty excited with the last one actually :P
We know God will take care of us. The only thing I worry was we support 3 missionaries & 1 orphan kid. Two of them solely depend on our support. What happen if we no longer able to give? I e-mailed them and asked for their prayers. It's comforting to know there's many people praying for us.
In the meantime, upon hearing what happen to Chris' company, our friends left and right kept informing him whenever they heard a job opening in his area of expertise. So... this past few months, Chris has been busy studying for certification, preparing, and going for interview on top of working full time, and being a father & husband. We trust God knows what best for us as we decline jobs that require a lot of travel or having him to work at night shift. Off course, like other job hunters, we had our ups and downs moments.
Then about two weeks ago, a manager called Chris to set up an interview. He was confused because he didn't even apply for the position. The hiring manager just called and said that he has a few people in the company (who turned out to be Chris' ex co-workers who moved there) highly recommended Chris to him. So he set up an interview couple days later and they immediately offered him the position afterward. We can't believe our ears. Chris has yet post his resume online or proactively look for a job himself. All we can say is it's purely God's grace and mercy. To God alone be the glory!
